Madchester and beyond
Manchester has always been a place of Cultural Revolution; its City streets and suburbs the home to more great bands, djs, movers and shaker(maker)s per square paving stone than anywhere else on the planet. In the late 80's Manchester became 'Madchester' and everybody wanted a piece of the action. Some said it was all hype, a media invention. Many more have since tried to take the credit (and created myths to prove it), and its offspring went on to have success right into the late 1990’s (Oasis, 808 State…).
 
In truth, it was those who made the music, who wore the clothes, trod the dance floors and travelled miles to shuffle around Affleck’s that made the scene a living, breathing, freaky dancin' reality.
